Welcome to Curtain Up Events

Curtain Up Christmas Market was launched by a small group of actors who organised their first Christmas Market on 22nd November 2010 at St Mary Abbots Centre, Kensington.

The idea was to raise funds for a good cause (by charging an entrance fee that was donated to a charity) and provide an event for everyone to enjoy and showcase their crafts, collectables and bric-a-brac, cakes etc . The individual stall holders contributed to the running costs of the event and kept whatever money they made – everyone benefited.

Curtain Up started with nearly 40 and now, in their 10th year, have over 50 stalls offering; collectables, vintage clothing, bric-a-brac, crafts, glass, jewellery, cakes, preserves and more. Curtain Up has become an annual event for many stall holders – it is great fun and part of Christmas.

Each year Curtain Up Christmas Market nominates a different charity. Click here to find out more about previous events.

The first charity to benefit was SANDS – Stillborn and neonatal death www.uk-sands.org, over £1,500 was raised on the door and from a raffle and refreshments. Refreshments are now always provided by MasterChef semi-finalist Julia Gray who gives all proceeds to SANDS www.uk-sands.org
